Flyin Miata!

Flyin Miata is a Miata performance shop, but they do other things too. I thought the group may enjoy the Westfield build diary.
There are lots of photos and good detail.  Any yup, they put a Miata power train in it. On the left side of page is 'build diary'.
Enjoy!

Paul and Sue are back in our area

I just received a nice email from Paul catching me up on their move back to Fredericton. Apparently Sue has retired and Paul claims to be semi-retired, hoping that this will give him more time for his LBC's, home projects and FABAC. He has decided to focus on his 1990 Jag XJS, so he is looking for a buyer for his 1974 MGB. Although it needs some work, here it is:

FABAC March Meeting Report

The meeting didn't start off well. We pulled up to Frank's Finer Diner to find it closed and locked.  I knew we where at the right place since the Crumley's were also sitting there staring at an empty parking lot.  A quick decision was made and we departed for Mama's Pub (just around the corner) leaving a hastily scribbled note taped to the door.
Mama's pub was noisy but open.  We settled in and where quickly joined by a few others.  It was a baker's dozen and we took the opportunity to make fun of everyone who wasn't there.  We also welcomed Bob and Rita back from Mexico but forbade them from making comments about the cold and snow. A short meeting was held to remind everyone about the upcoming run on the 7th of April and it was decided to hold the next dinner at McGinnis Pub on the 17th of April.  Hopefully it will have stopped snowing by then.

PS... Happy first day of spring everyone!

St. Patrick's Day Party Report

The St Patrick's Day 'Spring Fling' was flung with great success at Lorraine-n-Jim's place. While the turn out was small, the enthusiasm and food was of of epic proportions. The currie pockets and hot wings where tempered only by the Shepard's pie with lamb. Those folks with talent took over the living room and made music for a sing-along. Those without, retired to the pub for bench racing and lies.
The big topic was Jim's new E-Type. It was introduced to the club with little fanfare and Jim stood back and smiled as we opened doors and bonnets for the inspection. There was much oohing and aahing at the twin su's and 'Jag Eyes'. We pointed out the lack of heater hoses to Jim and suggested that perhaps the FABAC traveling road show and pit crew could stop by and rectify the minor shortcoming.
This tied in nicely with Joe's announcement that HIS E-Type is now alive. Only the day before it stumbled, burped, farted and was finely persuaded to roar to life in fine song. As the oils burnt off it idled smoothly and awoke from it's 25 year sleep. The bit of water bubbling from a couple of head bolts was found to be normal and we knew that the oil leaking from the distributor drive was our fault and easily correctable.
As the evening wained, door prizes where handed out and a vicious battle for 'Green Queen-King' was held. Dianne E (again) won the prize. Not happy with her frequent wins, several people have thrown down the gauntlet for next year. Someone muttered something about green body paint. This may get ugly.

PS: March meeting! The pseudo meeting held last night at Jim-n-Lorraine's place failed to attain a quorum so we decided to have a March business meeting on it's regular third Wednesday. It will be at Frank's Finer Diner on the 20th which is coincidentally, the first day of spring. The decision was unanimous.
